White Privilege

Since I’m white I’ll never fully understand what it’s like being discriminated against because of skin colour, just like men will never fully understand what it’s like being discriminated against because of sex.
Racism is not something that is the exclusive domain of white people and you are self deluded if you think it is.
Where did I say that is was the exclusive domain of white people? You are the one who is self deluded if you think that racism against white people is as bad and affect us as much as racism against people of colour.
You imply it Mortality.
Each individual act of “racism” is as bad as any other no matter who the perpetrator or the target may be. I have meet White racists and Black ones and they are the same in their hatred of the other. They are both as irrational and both are equally worthy of scorn.
No, they are not equally bad since there is the power aspect of it. White people as a class have more power than people of colour as a class. Therefore racism against white people can never be as bad. We’re still the default.

It’s funny how when PoC cry we’re mistreated, some White Privilege colour-blind person(s) will come along and effectively say, “Yeah, I know you’re suffering but it doesn’t matter because of blablahblah”. Of course you can say that; you’re White and don’t have to deal with our issues or our problems unless you choose to; while we have no choice but to work around your hidden racism and White privilege.

I try to be an ally when it comes to race issues, just as I want allies when it comes to gendered discrimination. If we all work together I think we can change the world for the better :)
